Bay Equestrian Centre is a riding school based in beautiful Kerikeri, New Zealand, home to our very own real-life unicorns.
We provide horse riding lessons for children and adults of all abilities — from first-time riders learning the basics to those looking to refine their skills — all on our very special, real-life “unicorns.”
As a local Kerikeri riding school, our focus is simple: building confidence, establishing correct foundations, and creating positive, enjoyable experiences with horses in a safe and supportive environment.

A short, fun, and gentle introduction to horses, perfect for preschoolers and young beginners.
Children will ride one of our calm, well-trained ponies in a safe and supportive environment while being led by an experienced instructor. Sessions focus on building confidence, balance, and enjoyment, with plenty of encouragement along the way.
Parents are welcome to watch, and every lesson is kept relaxed and pressure-free so little riders can learn at their own pace.

Horse Starting / Breaking In
Give your horse the best start with expert, gentle training tailored to their needs. I provide safe, effective starting and training for young or untrained horses, helping them gain confidence, responsiveness, and a solid foundation under saddle.
