Welcome to The Trot Shop Limited. By using our website and placing an order, you agree to the following terms:
Business details
The Trot Shop Limited, registered in New Zealand (NZBN/Company Number: 9429053058164).
All prices are listed in New Zealand Dollars (NZD).
The Trot Shop Limited is not currently registered for GST, so no GST is charged on purchases.
Orders
Orders are only confirmed once payment has cleared.
We may cancel or refuse an order if there is a stock error, payment issue, or suspected misuse.
Product information
We do our best to make product descriptions accurate, but small variations (e.g., colours, sizing) may occur.
Liability
We are not liable for indirect losses or delays beyond our control (e.g., courier issues).
Nothing in these terms limits your rights under the New Zealand Consumer Guarantees Act 1993.
Terms & Conditions – Horse Riding Lessons
By booking a riding lesson, you agree to the following terms and conditions:
1. Rider Responsibility
Riders must wear appropriate riding gear, including a helmet, boots with a heel, and suitable clothing.
Riders must follow all instructions given by the instructor at all times.
Riders participate at their own risk.
2. Horse Handling & Behaviour
Horses are unpredictable animals; care will be taken to provide safe horses, but accidents may still occur.
If a rider behaves recklessly or ignores safety instructions, the instructor reserves the right to stop the lesson immediately without refund.
3. Health & Safety
Please advise of any medical conditions, allergies, or injuries before the lesson.
Riders must be physically able to participate. The instructor reserves the right to decline participation if it is unsafe.
4. Payments & Cancellations
Payment is required at the time of booking unless otherwise arranged.
Cancellations made at least 24 hours before the lesson may be cancelled or rescheduled without charge. Cancellations made with less than 24 hours’ notice may be charged at the owner’s discretion.
No-shows will be charged the full lesson fee.
Lessons cancelled by the instructor due to weather or unforeseen circumstances will be rescheduled or refunded.
5. Liability
The instructor and property owners are not responsible for any injury, accident, loss, or damage to riders, spectators, or personal property.
Riders (or parents/guardians if under 18) accept full responsibility for their own safety and that of their horse.
6. Parental/Guardian Consent
Riders under 18 must have parental or guardian consent to participate.
Parents/guardians are encouraged to remain present during lessons.
7. Photography & Media
Photos or videos may be taken during lessons for promotional purposes unless you request otherwise in writing.
Terms & Conditions – Horse Training
By booking horse training services, you agree to the following terms and conditions:
1. Owner Responsibility
The horse must be in good health and free from contagious diseases.
The owner must disclose any behavioural issues, medical conditions, or history of injury before training begins.
Horses must be provided with appropriate tack and equipment in safe, working condition unless otherwise arranged.
Grazing for starting horses at my property is available for an additional $30 per session.
2. Training Approach
Every horse will be treated with respect and trained using safe, fair, and ethical methods.
Training outcomes vary depending on the horse’s temperament, history, and consistency of follow-up by the owner. No specific results are guaranteed.
3. Safety
Horse training involves inherent risks. While all care will be taken, accidents, injury, or illness may still occur.
The trainer reserves the right to refuse or stop training if a horse poses a risk to safety, is unfit to work, or requires veterinary attention.
4. Payments & Cancellations
Payment is required at the time of booking unless otherwise arranged.

5. Liability
The trainer and property owners are not responsible for any injury, accident, illness, or loss involving the horse, owner, rider, or property.
The owner accepts full responsibility for their horse’s ongoing care, behaviour, and progress outside of training sessions.
6. Owner Involvement
Owners are encouraged to attend training sessions where possible to learn and support their horse’s progress.
Follow-up work by the owner is essential to reinforce training and achieve lasting results.
7. Media
Photos or videos may be taken during training for educational or promotional purposes unless you request otherwise in writing.
Governing law
These terms are governed by New Zealand law.
